Amazingest Race Recap

Paragon recently held its first annual Amazingest Race. This unique event had teams of staff members travelling across Edmonton by foot and taxi to complete a variety of puzzles, challenges, and adventures.

(Left to Right) Tactical laser tag was among the long list of activities that made up the day-long competition. Participants square off in a game of bubble soccer. Bird house construction at its's finest.

The race started at the Paragon office where participants were handed their first clue which involved decoding a word puzzle to get to their next destination. From there most teams made their way by Taxi to Fort Edmonton park, and continued to travel by foot across the river and through a number of West Edmonton neighborhoods. As they progressed through the course teams participated in competitive versions of water balloon tossing, rhythmic hula hoop dancing, bird house building, tactical laser tag, air bubble soccer, geocaching, and riddle solving. Teams who were on the losing side of these activities were assigned time penalties to allow the winning team to move to the next activity quicker.

Teams were awarded time extensions and bonuses by donating money to Change For Children, a local charity that Paragon has partnered with to raise a targeted $25,000 to build a school and garden project in the BOSAWAS biosphere reserve in Nicaragua.

At the end of the race Paragon staff along with their family and friends met at the Westridge-Wolf Willow community league hall in West Edmonton next to the finish line and enjoyed an after party complete with dinner, dessert, and craft beer.
