On August 20th, Paragon Soil employees took part in the 3rd Annual Paragon golf tournament at the Ranch Golf and Country Club. After a group of Paragon employees joined Change for Children on a tour of the BOSAWAS biosphere reserve in Nicaragua in the spring of 2015, Paragon has committed to raise a target of $25,000 for the charity by the end of 2015. With 30 Paragon employees and guests in attendance, the tournament raised funds to help build a much needed elementary school and garden for rural communities in the area.
The tournament included a number of classic golf competitions, with prizes for longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin. A number of quirky competitions were also thrown into the mix, as golfers were challenged to tee off wearing oven mitts, use drivers dating from the 1960’s, and even putt with a club mounted to a shovel handle.
After the event a delicious BBQ dinner was held, with prizes and trophy’s awarded to winning teams. A raffle was also held with all proceeds going to Change for Children. Dedication to the cause was evident as Paragon employees came together to raise an impressive sum of $3500 at this memorable event!
